It’s Favorites time!! This month went by pretty fast for me, but I still managed to have a bunch of favorites that I wanted to share with you.
October Favorites 2017
iPhone 8 Plus
I recently upgraded from the iPhone 6s to the iPhone 8 Plus, and I really love it. It’s so crazy how quickly I got used to the bigger/heavier phone. My old phone looks so tiny to me now. With the new phone, my battery life is so much better and I love the larger screen. And I’ve been loving my new phone case which is my next favorite!
Glitter iPhone Case
Ok, I have been wanting a glitter phone case for so long. If you look back at my old birthday or Christmas wish lists, I have had some kind of glitter case listed. I’ve had phone cases with rhinestones or other shimmer, but the stones would just fall off or the shimmer would chip. I feel like I’ve finally found the perfect glitter case (full review here). I got to design my case on the website, so I chose the silver glitter and to have it say “ALOHA”. It’s so pretty and I find myself staring at it and just playing with it often. Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil
I love this face oil so much. You saw that it’s on my list for things to purchase at Sephora during their VIB Rouge Holiday Sale coming up. I love how my skin feels when I wake up after applying this at night. I think my skin looks brighter and more even, and it’s weird, but I think it’s making my eyebrows grow faster. I did a review here, but basically I love it and I’ll keep repurchasing it.
Knitting — My Handmade Blanket
I finally completed knitting my blanket!!! I’m so happy with how it turned out and it’s just in time for winter. I’ve actually been working on the blanket little by little for two years…so it’s about time I finish it. This was my first knitting project and it took quite a bit of yarn. Because my blanket was so large, I had to use circular needles to hold all my stitches and it got pretty heavy as I got further along. I’m really proud of myself and how well it turned out.
Wonderful Wonderful – The Killers
The Killers’ new album is out — Wonderful Wonderful — and I really like it. I’ve been listening to it on Spotify and it’s so good. I really like “The Man”, “Out of My Mind”, “Have All The Songs Been Written”, and “Tyson vs Douglas”. Basically I am enjoying the entire album; so excited for new music from The Killers.
Treadmill Runs
Since I’ve lost a good amount of weight, I have been able to run a lot better/faster/longer. I run about 2-3 times a week for fun and to be more fit. Lately, I’ve been able to run a mile in under 10 minutes (9:18 last week; yay!). I have really been enjoying just hopping on my treadmill and listening to The Killers or whatever is on the Spotify playlists.
Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert
I’ve never really been a fan of ice cream, but now that I’ve transitioned into eating a plant-based diet, I’ve tried out all sorts of new foods. I really like the Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie frozen dessert. It’s super smooth and silky and there are a lot of brownie chunks (but I still wish there were more). It’s nice to have a sweet option that tastes really great.
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask
I love this lip mask. My lips have been a little chapped lately, but overnight with this lip mask and I notice a huge improvement. Since I’ve been using it for the last couple weeks, my lips are smooth and soft.
bkr Water Bottle
The bkr water bottles are so awesome. I love that they are glass and that I can easily pack them up and take them wherever. The silicone sleeve comes in different colors which helps to really set the tone for the day. I love my 1L size in the color “Baby” — it’s there prettiest hot pink color. I was super sad when my 500 ml “Elle Heart” bkr broke, but I guess I’ll just have to be more careful. My other bkr bottles are still in perfect condition, and I’ve been scoping out some new colors to add to my collection.
Spotify
I’ve been loving listening to Spotify again. I had the premium version for 3 months at $.99 as a promotion late last year, I think. But I didn’t want to continue at $9.99/mo so I cancelled it and deleted the app. Now that I’m more into running again and wanting to stream some new music, Spotify has been great. I just have the free version, so there are still those annoying ads, and I can’t pick the songs I specifically want — just a playlist of similar music. It’s been really nice this month though.
The Experimenter Bath Bomb
When I received The Experimenter gift box for my birthday, I got a new Experimenter Bath Bomb. I really love this bath bomb, but don’t buy it that often. It’s just super pretty with all the colors and the shimmer inside. I really love Lush and the Experimenter has been one of my favorite Lush products this month. I can’t wait until I get my hands on the Christmas stuff this year.
Stranger Things 2
Yay for another season of Stranger Things. This show is so great! If you haven’t heard, this is a Netflix show that’s set in the 80’s — it’s part mystery, part action, part sci-fi-fi and it’s so good. No spoilers here, but you should definitely watch both seasons!
Nintendo Switch + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
This game is so much fun and I love playing on the Nintendo Switch. We mostly play with the switch hooked up to the TV, but you can play with the Switch as a monitor or play single-player with the Switch as a handheld device. Mario Kart is so much fun, and it’s great to pick your character and select your car. There are a lot of courses to play; we usually play Grand Prize mode at 150 cc and it’s super fun. You can’t go wrong with a Mario game. Love the Switch and Mario Kart 8.
