New (To Me) Skincare / Beauty

I recently got a lot of new beauty and skincare products so I thought it would be fun to do a little round-up of everything. I have definitely found some new favorites!

Last month was my birthday month, and I bought/was gifted some really great things. I was also really excited because Sephora had an unexpected 20% off sale as a Beauty Insider appreciation event, so I picked up a few big-ticket items.

Lush – The Art of Bathing

I bought this as a birthday gift to myself. This set is giant and has so many products that I’d never used before, so I was super excited to try it out. The packaging is super pretty and colorful and all of the bath stuff was separated in its own little bento box type sections. I used Over And Over bath bomb so far which has a cocoa butter layer on top and it’s pink inside. I’m excited to try the other new things especially now that the weather is starting to cool down.

Lush – All the Best

This set has my two absolute favorite items from Lush — The Comforter bubble bar and Sex Bomb bath bomb. I love these two together as the ultimate silky, pink bath; my favorite! The gift box also has a Buffy body butter and Sleepy lotion; I’d never used either before. The Buffy body butter is a silky/shea butter bar with exfoliating pieces inside. You just gently rub it over your wet skin, rinse it off, and pat dry. My skin felt so soft and smooth and it was so easy to use. The Sleepy lotion is kind of a pale purple color and reminds me of the Tatcha Body Butter that I wanted to purchase during the Sephora sale, but then it sold out. Sleepy is a lightweight lotion that smells like lavender. I haven’t used this too much but it smells really nice and comforting when I used it before going to bed.

bkr – Paris Water Balm

You already know that I love the bkr water bottles – (they’re cute and water just tastes better out of glass!). The packaging is of their new Paris Lip Balm is clean and compact, and it will even fit inside the lid of your bkr if you’re into that (but you would need to buy the special bkr lid). The lip balm smells like roses which remind me of the Dior Creme de Rose which I really like. The lip balm is silky but a little sticky. It feels like its kind of just sitting on top of my lips rather than hydrating them. I still like it; it’s shiny and smells good and I like to have it on my desk but if my lips are chapped or I want to do a treatment, I would use my Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask.

Dr. Jart – Rubber Face Mask

I have really been loving sheet masks lately so when I received this mask as a gift I was excited to try it out. The packaging looked a little creepy to me, but I tried it out one night and really enjoyed it. The mask comes with a little pod of serum that you are supposed to rub into your face first. Initially, I thought it was going to be too much product to use at once, but my skin really drank it up. Then you put on the two-piece rubber mask to seal in the serum and help it to fully absorb. I kept my mask on for almost an hour (mostly because we were watching a movie and I forgot about it), and my skin felt plump and soft after I took it off. Definitely a fun mask to try out and my face felt nice right after, but I didn’t see any dramatic change the brightness of my skin.

Tatcha – Luminous Dewy Skin Night Concentrate

This is my favorite new skincare item I got. Literally, I put this on at night and my skin is so bright and clear in the morning. It’s so hydrating and calming; I saw a change in my skin after the first night. I am super happy with it so far! The packaging is nice (like all of Tatcha’s products), but it’s a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Because the product is so concentrated, you apparently don’t need to use that much to get the effects. I use it all over my face, neck, and decollate which is about 4-5 of the little gold spoon scoops. I’m glad I got 20% off of this one since it’s on the pricier side at $110/1.7 oz.

Herbivore – Hydrate + Glow Natural Skincare

I had never tried any of the Herbivore products before but I was excited to try them because they are natural and I just really like the packaging. This gift set is great because it comes with a variety of different products. I was not a fan of the Pink Cloud moisturizer mostly because it didn’t seem to absorb into my skin. The Phoenix Regenerating face oil is nice. I love facial oils and I feel like they have been really great for my skin. My favorite facial oil is The Noni Glow one from Kora Organics, but I do enjoy this Phoenix oil. I haven’t used the Brighten mask yet, but I love the Rose Hibiscus face mist. It’s so refreshing and smells amazing. I use it in the afternoon for a little burst of freshness. The spray is a little harsh though, not like a fine mist/like the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist.

Algenist – Liquid Collagen

I have been using the Algenist Liquid Collagen every morning and I’m not sure if it’s just the Tatcha Night Concentrate from the night before, but I feel like my skin is looking bright and firm. This collagen is plant-based and you only need one dropper full to apply over your face and neck. It does leave my skin kind of sticky, but I haven’t been wearing any makeup lately so I’m not sure how that would affect makeup application.

Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Trio

I love these glitter eyeshadows — my favorite one is the Kitten Karma, but I hadn’t really tried ay of their many color options. This cute little gift set gives you three mini colors — Kitten Karma, Rose Gold Retro, and Smoldering Satin. These colors are so great and I love them so much. My favorite color is still the Kitten Karma, then Rose Gold Retro which has more of a finer glitter/shimmer. I do also like the Smoldering Satin, but it’s a little dark for an everyday look for me.

I’m really happy with all of my new beauty/skincare and am excited to keep using them!
