Making time for yourself and listening to your body is so important. If I’m feeling stressed or unhappy, I like to take some time to do the things that I know will help me to feel better. If you don’t make time for yourself, it’s probably not going to happen.

Recently we were able to spend some time in Maui and it was truly the best self care I could have asked for. Here’s a recap of my self care vacation in Maui, Hawaii:

Morning walks on the beach

Each morning, we would walk out to Kaanapali beach and just walk up and back, stopping to appreciate the experience. The cool mornings at the beach were some of the best times. The ocean is so calming and being able to watch it without any distractions or lots of people was so special.

Exercise/Running

I have been running on my treadmill for a while now and I love it, but running in Hawaii was so much fun. It’s definitely different running outdoors and there were a lot of people on the beach walk, but it was great to be able to run and enjoy the beautiful Maui scenery. Exercise helps to relieve stress and helps me to clear my mind.

Swimming in the ocean

The ocean is so beautiful and powerful. I love the beach and walking in the water, but actually swimming in the ocean is amazing. I got to swim in the ocean each day we were there and the water was so perfect. On a couple of days I took my GoPro out with us and I saw some cool fish in the ocean.

Laying in the sun

Feeling the warmth of the  sun and sand while listening to the ocean waves is probably my favorite thing to do. I love being out in the sun and watching the water.

Face masks

We went to the Sephora at Whaler’s Village and bought a few of their sheet masks and I also bought one of their hand masks. I’ve never used a sheet mask before, but it was so refreshing and it smelled nice. I also used the argan hand mask and my hands felt so soft; it was amazing and I’ll definitely be using more of these sheet masks/ hand masks as part of my at-home self care routine.

Sometimes spending time in a different environment is just what you need to change your mindset. I am so grateful to have been able to visit Hawaii and do fun relaxing activities that bring me joy while recharging me. Even if you can’t go on a vacation somewhere, it’s super important to do things that recharge you and to take time for self care. ♡
