Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale 2019 – My Picks

It’s been a while since I bought my huge skincare haul, and I’m almost out of all of my favorites. I have been waiting for Sephora’s Holiday Sale to be announced before I bought anything else, and now we have the details. Here’s everything you need to know about the Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale 2019, and my top picks/things I am considering!

SEPHORA HOLIDAY BONUS SALE

Sephora usually only has two sales a year — one in April/May and one in October/November. The last two years, we have seen a special “extra” sale in August, and nothing is changing this year with the October/November sale. I always look forward to these sales since they are kind of infrequent. It’s a great time to stock up on my staple products, and a nice discount if I want to try out something new.

SEPHORA SALE DATES 2019 + CODES

The Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale is from November 1st – 11th. Each tier of Beauty Insider can use the same code: HOLIDAYSAVE to get their discount. All details and more information can be found on the Sephora Community site.

  • VIB ROUGE – 20% 11/1-11/11
  • VIB – 15% 11/7-11/11
  • BEAUTY INSIDER – 10% 11/7-11/11

You can shop with your discount as many times as you’d like during your sale dates in store and online.

Also, if you’re Rouge, you can bring your friend with you in store Friday, November 1, and they’ll get 20% off too as long as they are a current member of the Beauty Insider program.

MY TOP PICKS + THINGS I AM CONSIDERING

I will be purchasing a few things from Sephora during the sale, but lately I have been looking to other retailers for my beauty purchases. I do enjoy the shopping experience at Sephora.com, but I’m unhappy with their rewards program when compared to Ulta. I’ve been VIB Rouge since the new tier was created but frequently I can get better perks from other stores.

With that said, Sephora still does carry a lot of the brands I enjoy and it’s very easy to make a one-stop-shop purchase through them. It all comes down to how much research and comparison you are willing to do to get the best deal for you.

MY TOP PICKS

I have been loving my entire Tatcha Replenishing Ritual gift set that I bought on Tatcha.com. This is an example of something that is better to buy direct rather than from Sephora except when there is a sale. On Tatcha.com, the gift set is already discounted 11+% and then I use my $20 off coupon to get a good value during the year. But when Sephora has their 20% off sale, it’s better to buy from Sephora, but you will have to split your order because Sephora usually has a limit to how many Tatcha products you can buy per transaction.

TATCHA Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser

This oil cleanser is super soft and breaks down any makeup or sunscreen. If you are someone who is just starting to take care of their skin, this is a great cleanser because it’s gentle and cleans off everything easily. Unlike a lot of cleansers, it’s hydrating and keeps your skin feeling soft without a moisturizer. (Perfect for nights you’re super tired and only do one thing to your face).

TATCHA The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder

I really like this enzyme cleanser because it’s a mild exfoliant, and gentle enough to use daily. The rice power foams up and really gives you a deep clean feeling without being super drying. It’s the papaya enzyme that does the exfoliating, not the rice grain power.

TATCHA The Essence Plumping Skin Softener

I love the Essence because I feel like it helps my skin retain moisture and feel softer. It’s supposed to penetrate your skin and cause your other skincare products to absorb deeper. I’m not sure about all of that, but I do enjoy how it feels and using it in my routine.

TATCHA The Dewy Skin Cream

This is my favorite moisturizer; I love it so much. It’s soft and silky but not greasy of heavy. It sinks into my skin almost instantly and creates a smooth surface that feels light and soft. I don’t feel shiny and it feels like my face can breath. Most importantly, my skin is so soft and I feel like it gives me a bright glow.

TATCHA Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen

This sunscreen is great, but the more I used it, the more I felt like I was drying my skin out. It’s slightly matte which I guess was compounded by my frequent re-application. Now, I make sure to apply the Dewy Cream underneath to sort of protect my skin from becoming dry.

TATCHA Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum

I don’t really know much about this eye cream, but I have been wanting to try it. I like how the tip is metal and cooling to help de-puff my eyes. I think this would work well for me with my other Tatcha products.

Sunday Riley A+ Retinol Serum

I really wanted to try out a retinol now since it’s getting a little colder out and the sun isn’t as harsh. I really liked Good Genes by Sunday Riley so I was excited to try their A+ Retinol Serum. But I read on Reddit that Sunday Riley was faking reviews on Sephora.com and doing it in a super shady way too. So, I won’t be supporting them anymore. I’m sure other brands are doing it too, but Sunday Riley went to such extreme lengths to be extra shady.

Drunk Elephant A-Passioni

As an alternative to the Sunday Riley retinol, I am considering the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol. Retinol is supposed to help with lines and wrinkles and I like how I don’t need a doctor’s prescription to get it. I’ve heard that tretinoin is the gold standard for retinoid, but for now, I’m hoping this will be good for me.

Deva Curl Curly Set

My curls have been loving the curly girl method, and Deva Curl products. I really like the No-Poo Original and the One Condition Original in the deluxe set but every time I order from Sephora, the shampoo is leaking all over the box. I feel like it’s Sephora’s packaging that ruins it every time, but it isn’t available in stores. So, I recently ordered it from Ulta with a 20% coupon. Ulta really has stepped up their game lately and I will definitely be looking to them more for my beauty purchases.
