Tartelette In Bloom REVIEW

It’s been a little while since I first bought the Tartelette In Bloom palette and showed you my first impressions. Now that I’ve been able to use it for a month+, I’m ready to give you a full Tartelette In Bloom review:

PACKAGING

The packaging for this palette is beautiful. I love the gold casing with the vibrant pink to purple watercolor overlay. This palette feels like spring to me when you look at it. The palette itself is a nice size — good for travel — and it has a good weight to it.

Inside, you see a gigantic mirror which I’m super happy about. I’d been so used to the small, narrow mirror inside my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette that I was so surprised with this full-sized tartlette in bloom one. The entire palette feels substantial; like a quality product.

TARTELETTE IN BLOOM – COLORS

The Tartelette in Bloom palette comes with twelve (12) .53 oz. colors in a nice range of warm, neutral, and cool neutrals. I love all of the colors! Coming from the Naked 2 palette, this was a subtle change, but also different enough that I can create a lot of new looks.

With a combination of matte and shimmer colors, there’s a lot of diversity in this palette. The colors are:

  • Charmer (off white)
  • Jetsetter (warm taupe)
  • Rocker (shimmering taupe)
  • Smokeshow (black brown)
  • Flower Child (peachy nude)
  • Smarty Pants (tan)
  • Firecracker (bronze copper)
  • Activist (dark brown)
  • Funny Girl (champagne)
  • Sweetheart (peach)
  • Rebel (chestnut brown)
  • Leader (aubergine)

FORMULA + PIGMENT

The first thing I noticed about these eyeshadows is that they have a smell. They smell sweet — maybe chocolaty. This was weird to me because I have never tried those scented eyeshadows (like the peach one or the chocolate one from Too Faced). In fact, I think that’s kind of odd to have “food” smell on your face, but It’s not a bad smell and I don’t smell it once I’ve applied it to my eyes.

The eyeshadows are formulated from Amazonian clay so, if you’ve used tarte’s products before, you know they have an amazing pigmentation. I love how smooth they are and how well they blend together. I’ve been using this palette every day when I wear makeup and I love it.

There is a bit of fall out when I pick up powder with my eyeshadow brushes, but not terrible. I love this palette and reach for it every day I wear makeup. The colors are perfect for both day and night looks and the huge mirror makes it great for travel.
