Erin Condren A5 vs 7×9″ Size Comparison

The Erin Condren Life Planner comes in a new coiled A5 size this year. It can be hard to visualize the differences from the classic planner, so I wanted to post an A5 vs 7×9″ size comparison to help.

I recently shared my first impressions of the new 2022 Erin Condren Life Planner launch. I’ve used a Life Planner for many years, but I wasn’t as excited about the design options this time. Little things bothered me, and I even started looking around at other planners to switch things up. But I love so many other things about the Life Planner; it’s what I’m used to and I didn’t want to have to change my planning style. As a compromise, I ordered the new A5 size Life Planner for my 2022 planner.

Coiled Erin Condren A5 Life Planner

The coiled A5 Life Planner is super cute. The A5 size is 5.8″ x 8.3″. If you are used to the standard size 7×9″ planners, the A5 looks like a cute little mini. The A5 only comes in the Horizontal Layout in either the Flora or Mid Century Circles designs (there is also an A5 Daily Duo option). I ordered the 12-month A5 planner with a gold coil in the Mid Century Circle design.

A5 Life Planner Box Sizes

The A5 horizontal layout is more compact than the 7×9″ classic size. A lot of the white space is gone, but it doesn’t feel too squished.

The A5 boxes are 1 7/8″x 1 1/4″ (including the small header bar).

A5 vs 7×9″ Size Comparison

Even knowing the dimensions and box sizes in the A5, it can be hard to visualize the differences from the classic size. I wanted to show a side by side comparison to help if you’re trying to decide which Life Planner to get.

The coil appears to be the same between both planners. The coil would be larger if you chose the 18-month option, but both of my planners are the 12-month version.

A5 First Impressions

I am really pleased with the A5 so far. It is just new/different enough to be exciting and help me forget about the tiny design details I don’t care for. I love the small size and how clean/efficient it seems. I’ll post a full review in a few months, but so far I’m happy with my decision. I hope this side by side was helpful; happy planning!
