How to Make a Dreamcatcher DIY

It’s almost Mother’s Day and I thought it would be fun to make something for my mom to make it a little extra special. I found a cute dreamcatcher diy and decided to give it a try. It was super easy and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

WHAT I USED

HOW I MADE IT

Making the dreamcatcher was pretty easy, but it did take quite a while. The first step is to wrap the hoop with the wax cord. I used some hot glue to stick the end of the cord on my hoop and began to wrap the cord all around. This took a while since I was using a 14″ hoop and you need to keep the cord tightly as you are wrapping so you don’t lose your progress.

From there, I moved on to weaving the craft cord through the hoop to create the dreamcatcher design. This is a little hard to describe, so this video helps to show whaat you need to do:

While weaving the craft cord into my dreamcatcher, I added a few of the rose quartz and gold beads to make it extra cute.

Once my design was complete, I added strips of the prettiest lace to the bottom. The lace really took the dreamcatcher to the next level. I love how full and feminine it looks while tying the whole piece together. I used all the strips of lace that came in my order and just looped them around the hoop.

And to finish it off, I added these cute little mini pink roses. They are already on a green flower wire, so it was super easy to secure them to the side of the dreamcatcher. I love the way this turned out and I think my mom will really like it. If you try this out, tag me on insta; I’d love to see your designs.
