Pressed Juicery 3-Day Cleanse | My Experience

It’s officially spring! With this new season, I was looking to do a new thing and just start fresh. So, I decided to try a new juice cleanse! I’ve done two juice cleanses in the past and had a good experience and this time I decided to do a 3-day juice cleanse from Pressed Juicery. Here’s how this juice cleanse went for me:

RESEARCHING WHICH CLEANSE TO DO

Before I was ready to buy my cleanse, I spent a lot of time on their website and looking at their different juices. Most of the Pressed Juicery juices are named basic names for their primary ingredient — Greens 1, Greens 2, Greens 3, etc. They have three pre-grouped cleanses, and a short quiz to help you decide which cleanse would be right for you. Based on the quiz, Cleanse 3 would be good for me, but I knew I don’t like the Greens 1 juice (kale, spinach, romaine,, parsley, cucumber, celery, lemon) which would be two of the six juices each day, so I decided to build my own cleanse without any of the Greens 1.

I built out my cleanse and was excited to have each of my three days include:

  • Greens 3
  • Citrus 3
  • Greens 3
  • Orange Tumeric Apple Lemon
  • Activated Charcoal Lemonade
  • Chocolate Almond

I put the cleanse in my online cart and it let me choose the dates that I wanted delivery, but  they only delivered on Monday – Wednesday or something strange and I really wanted my juice to arrive on Friday, so I could cleanse Saturday – Monday and shipping was really expensive, so I didn’t complete my order. We have two Pressed Juicery stores pretty near to us, so I decided to just go into a store and pick up my cleanse — save on shipping and also be able to start on the day I wanted.

MEMBERSHIP

I was so happy that I didn’t place my online order when Pressed Juicery announced their new membership program a few days later. With this new membership, you create an account and “pre-load” your card with money on a recurring payment, and then use that money towards your purchase. With this membership, you get special pricing where every juice is $5. So a 3-day cleanse would end up being $90 instead of $129 with their old pricing.

I was so excited because who doesn’t want to save $40?! But literally the Pressed Juicery website is the worst website I have ever visited. The membership sign up does not work, even as of today. I completed all of my information and the “continue” button wouldn’t work. I tried on my phone and their random video would auto-play and kick me out. It was so crazy how bad the user experience was. We called their customer care with no answer, and I even DM’d them on twitter with no reply. It was just a frustrating experience.

We went into one of the retail locations so that they could hopefully help me sign up and I could get the member pricing, but the sales guy in there was super rude and had no clue how to sign me up either. So we just left, and I questioned why I even wanted to do a Pressed Juicery cleanse at all. My husband drove us to their other retail location which was a lot better experience.

BUYING MY CLEANSE (FINALLY)

I was able to buy my cleanse at the price I wanted and without the rude customer service I received at the previous location. The sales person at the second store explained the cleanse and made a recommendation for me to swap out the Activated Charcoal Lemonade I had wanted with another juice because of the calories and the fact that it’s really “purging”, more on that later. So I went with the suggestion and chose a another Greens 3 in its place.  So my final 3-day juice cleanse was:

  • Greens 3
  • Citrus 3
  • Greens 3
  • Orange Tumeric Apple Lemon
  • Greens 3
  • Chocolate Almond

DAY 1

My first day of the cleanse went really well. I drank each of my six juices and a ton of water throughout the day and never felt “hungry”. I did miss the feeling of eating solid foods, but it wasn’t too bad. Obviously with drinking so much liquid, I was making more frequent trips to the restroom, but that was just more annoying than anything else. I did not like the chocolate almond juice at all. I was a little bummed too because that’s supposed to be the “dessert” drink that everyone looks forward to.

DAY 2

The second day was a lot harder and I started getting over the Greens 3 really quickly. I don’t care for ginger, and I can just really taste it in the Greens 3. As the day went on I started feeling slightly sick from it. I was dreading drinking my third Greens 3 of the day and actually not feeling well after I drank it, so when dinner came around …I broke the cleanse. I felt a little bad about it, but it just wasn’t working for me. I wish I had gone with another juice instead of a third Greens 3.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

While I like the idea of “cleansing” and giving your digestion process a break so your body can focus on other things, I don’t think I’ll be doing a juice cleanse again. Remember, I had done two 3-day cleanses in the past and each of those went well, but this one put a bad taste in my mouth. And truly, I don’t think your body needs a “cleanse” in order to refresh itself. Your body is healing and detoxifying on its own, but you can help by eating healthier and taking care of yourself. So if a cleanse helps you to do that, then that’s great.
