When I was making those charms for my DIY Lapel Pins, I was inspired to make another set of charms — LUCKY charms! And when better to make some lucky charms than for St. Patrick’s Day! These were so fun to make and I think they turned our really cute! Here’s hot to make DIY Lucky Charms Key Chains for St. Patrick’s Day:

HERE’S EVERYTHING YOU NEED:

TRACE YOUR LUCKY CHARMS

Trace out some cute St. Patrick’s Day themed charms. I just found some ideas on Pinterest and resized them in my word processor. Your shrink plastic will shrink down, so draw out your charm about 2.5 times larger than you want it to be. You can download the images I used here.

COLOR IN YOUR CHARMS

Use sharpie markers to color in your charms. The colors will darken when baked in the oven. So if you have some varying green markers, go with the lighter green.

CUT OUT YOUR LUCKY CHARMS

Carefully cut out your shrink plastic as close to the black border as possible. Keep in mind where you’ll want to create the hole for your charm.

HOLE PUNCH YOUR CHARMS

I just used my three-hole punch to carefully make a hole in my charms. The hole size will shrink down with the plastic and it will end up being the perfect lucky charm size.

BAKE IN THE OVEN

Bake your plastic on aluminum foil according to the directions on your shrink plastic. I baked mine for 2 minutes at 325 degrees.

SEAL THE DESIGN

Seal your charms and make them shiny and professional looking with Mod Podge. Carefully cover the surface of your lucky charms. Pay special attention to not fill in the hole. You want the hole to remain clear so you can add the keyring.

CREATE YOUR LUCKY CHARM KEYCHAINS

Now that your lucky charms are beautiful and shiny, open up the tiny little c-rings and attach them to the keyring. Or loop the cord key clip through the hole in your lucky charm. Super easy!

ENJOY & HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY

These turned out so cute and they were super easy to make. Please share this on Pinterest if you enjoyed it too! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
