Top 10 iPhone Apps of 2016

Most of us have our phones with us constantly. I take my phone everywhere and use it for everything. But part of what makes our phones so functional and entertaining are the awesome apps that are out there. So, I’ve put together a list of my top 10 favorite iPhone apps of 2016:

1. Spotify

This music-streaming app is awesome — the interface is clean and easy to use. I particularly like how the songs transition one to the next. They also cool feature for runners to keep pace when listening to a certain station. The app is free, but there are ads here and there. My sister let me know about their promo going on through the end of the year — 3 months of Premium Spotify (no ads, unlimited skips, “download” songs for offline listening) for $.99. Seems like a good deal; I might give it a try.

2. Mint

I’ve been using Mint for years and I really like it. I had some issues with logging in a few months ago, but since a recent update it has been great. Mint connects with all of your bank accounts to show you all your spending and income in one place. I like how simple it is to navigate and how you can create a budget right within the app. Mint will help remind you when bills are due and allow you to set financial goals and track your progress.

3. Reddit

I love the official Reddit app and the smooth user interface. It makes it easy to check all my subreddits and send comments. Reddit is cool because there are “sub-reddits” for basically every topic ever. They have an up-vote/down-vote system so only the best & most relevant items are on top. Definitely check it out!

4. Amazon Video

I like Amazon Video because there are different shows and movies available than what is on Netflix. They still have Doctor Who on there and also Downton Abbey. Amazon Video is free with Amazon Prime (get your 30 day free trial here). What’s extra neat about this app is, at any time while watching a show, you can tap the screen and it’ll display who the actor on screen is or the name of the song in the background! And if you were really curious, you can click that actor’s photo and it’ll take you to their IMDb and other information!

5. Terraria

I love playing Terraria because it’s never ending. You just go through your world and build and design. As you construct your land, you’ll find tools and armor that will help you move faster or see in the dark. There are a few zombie fights though, and don’t forget the Eye of Cthulhu.

6. Mario Run

I just started playing this new Mario Run game for iPhone. So far it seems fun — Mario runs forward and all you need to do is time his jumps just right in order to get coins and special coins. The app is free with in-game purchases.

7. Pinterest

Pinterest is amazing. I love this app because I can go on really quickly and search recipes or DIYs. Of course I love a good DIY. Check out my round up of DIY LUSH Christmas bath products here!

8. Cartwheel

If you shop at Target, you should definitely consider the Cartwheel app. You scan the items you’re ready to buy with your phone and if there is a discount available, it’s be loaded onto a digital bar code. Just scan your bar code checkout for that extra savings. Target discounts are never very high, but if you combine Cartwheel with a RED Card, it all adds up!

9. Union

This app is so easy to use. I use Union to merge two photos together. With Union, you can layer images together or add watermarks. It’s way easy & I use this app more than my computer when editing photos.

10. eBay

The eBay app makes it super easy to list items to sell right from your phone. I like how I can take a photo, edit the description, and have my listing ready to go. Selling on eBay is an easy way to make a few dollars while cleaning out some things you no longer use. Check out all my listings here!
