Everything I Knit in 2025 + WIPs

With 2025 coming to a close, I wanted to recap my knit (and crochet) projects from the year, and also to share the projects I have on the needles now. Keep reading to see everything I knit in 2025:

Go Go Dynamo Shawl

This shawl was a mystery shawl, but I knit it after the fact. I loved my yarn choices by La Bien Aimee and Hedgehog Fibres, and I really enjoyed the shawl’s construction. This was the first time I had knit a shawl starting in the middle and then picking up and knitting the top and bottom.

I loved the motifs in the shawl from stripes to bubble stitch, to brioche. This shawl was a lot of fun. Definitely in the running for my favorite project of the year.

Monday Sweater

I love my Monday Sweater. This simple top-down raglan is a polished, classic sweater for every wardrobe. I bought beautiful yarn from Knitting for Olive and really enjoyed knitting my sweater. But I had some gauge issues and had to block pretty aggressively to get the final sweater measurements.

I am still happy with my sweater. It turned out beautifully and I got to wear it on my recent trip to Amsterdam. I will probably knit the Monday Sweater again because it was such a fun knit and the sweater is a classic.

Starflanket

The Starflanket blanket is probably my most favorite project of the year. I actually want to knit another one right now. This blanket was a stashbuster for me and I used a lot of my leftover yarns. I loved using so many leftover yarns and creating a soft, squishy blanket. I use this blanket all the time; it’s the perfect size.

I think I have the most fun with stashbuster projects because I am giving purpose to yarns that I’ve been holding onto for a while. It feels like I’m cleaning house and also creating something useful. I will definitely make another Starflanket sometime soon.

Good Things Shawl

This shawl was really interesting. I love the finished product, but it was a little tricky at times to knit. I was really happy with the color palette I created, but I wouldn’t knit this shawl again. As an advent shawl, this would definitely be a great project, and I think the momentum of opening a new color yarn would help propel me to finish. But as it was for me, I felt frustrated joining the wedges and repeating the same thing for multiple wedges.

Fort Sweater

This is a beautiful sweater and I am really happy with the finished product. I even had fun knitting it, especially with the beautiful De Rerum Natura yarn I used. I might try to knit this sweater again, but I felt super frustrated with the lack of direction in the pattern regarding the set-in sleeves. If I were to knit this pattern again, I’d want to research set-in sleeves more and how to join them. Or I may try to knit the sleeves flat and then join them.

Bonus Crochet*

I learned to crochet this year and I made a couple of small projects that were really fun.

Harry Potter

I used a kit to make this Harry Potter amigurumi and I was really happy with everything. The kit had a linked video tutorial and all the materials I needed. I was completely new to actual crochet and this step-by-step kit was just what I needed to get started. I’m really proud of my first crochet project.

Scrap Yarn Basket

This basket was super simple and enjoyable as a new crocheter. I used leftover yarns from my rainbow Jigsaw Puzzle Blanket to make this basket. I held 5 strands of different colors together which gave this pretty marled effect. This basket was the perfect practice project for me and I love the result.

Current WIPs

I’m just getting started or in the middle of these knit projects and it might take me a while to finish, but I wanted to share my little progress:

Houses of Reykjavik Shawl

I fell in love with the colorful middle section of this shawl when I first saw the pattern release. I wanted to use of some of my leftovers and make a cute, rainbow shawl.

This shawl starts off with that colorful modular section in the middle of the shawl. Similar to the Go Go Dynamo shawl, the middle is completed first, then the top and bottom of the shawl is picked up and built off it. I have been loving choosing random colors and alternating textures.

Winter Chunky Jacket

After knitting the Fort sweater for my husband, I really wanted to knit a sweater for myself. I had this Winter Chunky Jacket in my queue for a while, and decided that now was the time.

This sweater is double knit with a fluffy boucle yarn, so it’s slow going for me, but I am loving the fabric texture and I am really looking forward to wearing my jacket.
