Lush | Mini Haul + Neon Love Soap

This post may contain affiliate links; all opinions are my own. See Disclosures here

I popped into Lush to get a few favorites, but I was also excited to see their Valentine’s Day items. I got the Comforter Bubble Bar (my FAVORITE!), two Sex Bomb Bath Bombs, and a small chunk of the new Neon Love Soap.

mini-lush-haul-muffinchanel-valentines-day-love-neon-review-the-comforter-sex-bomb1-1024x768The soap is limited edition for Valentine’s Day and is a super pretty reddish-pink color with a white heart running through the middle. The hearts were cut all weird in the blocks at the store, but one of the sales associates was super nice and cut me a piece with a perfect heart! ❤

muffinchanel-neon-love-lush-review-soap-valentines-day-1024x337From LushWith fresh passion fruit juice to cleanse and soya yogurt to nourish, Neon Love is one we want to use all over our bodies in the bath and shower. A new perfume was blended for this bar, and includes citrusy bergamot, rosewood and spicy cinnamon leaf oil. Hiding inside the huge heart-shaped soap are little white hearts to ensure every slice looks just as beautiful as it smells.

I really like the way this smells and kind of wish I’d gotten a larger piece. It smells warm and cinnamon-y but not spicy; and sweet and citrus-y; very clean. The scent lingers for a while. Plus, it makes a sweet pink lather which is amazing. It did made my hands feel kind of dry after washing with it & I had to use some hand cream to get rid of the tightness. :/

Have you tried the Neon Lush soap? Or any of the Valentine’s Day items from Lush? What did you think? 🙂

Landon Austinlandon austin muffin chanel muffinchanel once in a lifetime

When I first heard about Landon Austin on Youtube, I thought he used auto-tune on his voice. He has a really unique sound, accompanied by an acoustic guitar and his songs are pretty mellow. I am really liking Once In A LifetimeEven though it’s a slower song, I like to listen to this when I’m running.

The Hunger Games – Catching Fire

catching-fire1This movie was much better than the first. The Capitol establishes new rules in order to surpress a rebellion encouraged by Katniss Everdeen’s breaking the rules in the last Hunger Games. Peacekeepers are enforcing more rules on the different Districts and Katniss and Peeta must fight again in the 75th Hunger Games. If you liked the first movie, you’ll really like the second. By the end, I was holding up my three fingers and whistling the Mockingjay tune!

Chipotle

sofritas

I’ve been loving Chipotle so much in November. I get a burrito with: white rice, fajita vegetables, sofritas (only served in select states/locations), the green salsa, corn, sour cream, and guacamole. MMMmmm. So good. I’ll sometimes get the chips and guacamole on the side, but only if I’m super hungry.

Nike+ Running

nike-running-personal-records-training-for-a-half-marathon-muffinchanel

I’m still training for a half marathon, and I’m using the Nike+ Running App to track my runs. Just the other day, I logged my farthest run – 7.25 miles! Yay. I’ve still got a ways to go and a lot more conditioning, but I really like how the Nike+ Running App lets you create goals how you can “race” with your friends. Add me (MuffinChanel) and we can race!

Lush Baths

photo-1photo-21I love Lush baths; especially during the colder months. Relaxing underneath a blanket of bubbles is so perfect. My favorite combination at the moment is The Comforter bubble bar and Think Pink bath bomb & to make it extra amazing, I add a dropper of Josie Maran’s Argan Oil! With this bath ^, I used Sandstone soap to exfoliate and Sweetie Pie shower jelly. Amazing!

Starbucks Holiday Star Dash

screen-shot-2013-11-29-at-8-27-45-pmI’m so excited that I was selected to participate in the Starbucks Holiday Star Dash. As you can see, I earned my 16 stars and will get the $10 eGift! Yay for those Very Berry Hibiscus Refreshers!

Photojojo Macro/Wide Lens

I got this lens for my birthday and it’s awesome. If I have to choose from the three they offer, this is the one I choose. I love it because it is both Macro and a Wide angle lens — just unscrew it to get the Macro.

Rainbow Loom

rl-heroMy little cousins shared their Rainbow Looms with me over Thanksgiving! They taught me how to make the Starburst and Fishtail bracelets! You can get the Rainbow Loom at Michael’s for $17 and each Rubber Band Pack of 600 bands is $4.

photo-2Grand Theft Auto 5

screen-shot-2013-12-01-at-7-04-19-pm

I recently bought GTA 5 and it’s so much fun. I have GTA 4 (but I never even finished the story mode), but GTA 5 is so much better. You play as three different characters in story mode & the online mode is so much fun; I’m already on level 16!

Living Proof – Restore

photo-3

I bought this in my Sephora VIB Rouge haul to try it out and it’s awesome. My hair looks and feels softer and healthier. I’ll repurchase the larger sizes when I run out. I do like these small bottles though; perfect size for traveling.

What have you been loving this November? Let me know in the comments.

Lush Holiday Favorites

This post may contain affiliate links; all opinions are my own. See Disclosures here

Every year, Lush comes out with its holiday gift sets, bath bombs, bubble bars, and more. Some of the seasonal scents are less than magical for me, but there are a few that I really look forward to.

Golden Wondermuffinchanel lush holiday favorites

This bath bomb is huge! It’s $6.95 and shaped like a present with a white bow on top. I used this the other night and it smells lovely.

Christmas Eve
muffinchanel lush holiday favorites

My favorite Christmas themed bubble bar. Super relaxing; makes your water so silky and pretty blue.

Cinders

You can’t go wrong with this yellow bomb at $4.95. With red “pop rocks?” inside, you’ll feel like you are sitting near a crackling fire with this cinnamon scented bomb.

Do you have any LUSH holiday recommendations? What are your favorites?

Top 10 Favorites from LUSH

10. Pop In The Bath

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

Pop in the Bath is a sweet smelling bubble bar. The come in a few different colors — I’ve seem pink, green, and blue and they all make tons of bubbles. This is one of Lush’s least expensive bubble bars at $7.25 and you can get at least two uses out of a bar this size.

9. Blackberry

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

I love the smell of this bath bomb. I especially like this bomb because it doesn’t have any “surprises” in it. Other bombs will have confetti or rose petals, ect., but this one is pure perfumey goodness. Your water will turn a pretty lavender color and you’ll find that the bomb is slow to dissolve — more time for you to enjoy the fizz!

8. Pink Bath Bomb

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

This super cute little bath bomb only costs $4.95, and is the perfect addition to a bath with a bubble bar. It’s bright pink color and little flowers can brighten up any regular bath. Smells like vanilla, but I notice that the smell doesn’t last that long. I always combine this with a bubble bar.

7. Honey I Washed The Kids

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

I love this soap because it smells exactly like honey! It has a beautiful golden color and a “honeycomb” top layer. I’m not really sure what the honeycomb layer is for since it seems to be made out of a waxy substance — it doesn’t lather. It could be for exfoliating, but it find it a little annoying and tend to select pieces from the store that don’t have that much.

 6. Ocean Salt

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

I love this tropical smelling face/body scrub; it makes me think of summer. The think granules of salt come sprinkled across the top and you stir them in when you get home. It’s a great exfoliant, but be careful not to scrub too hard when using it on your face — it’s very abrasive. I like to use this in the shower as a body scrub.

 5. Grease Lightening

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

This stuff is awesome! If you have any blemishes or clogged pores, use this as a spot treatment. I always see results overnight! The smell is ok and it won’t sting your face.

4. Sex Bomb

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

Of all Lush’s bath bombs, I love the smell of this the most. It smells sweet like rose and jasmine. It fizzes away a little more quickly than I’d like, and it actually leaves a purple ring around my tub, but it’s still one of the best bombs you can buy.

3. Rose Jam

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

These “bubbleroons” are kind of weird. It’s like two halves of a bubble bar with a jelly-like layer in between. I like this Rose Jam one because of the smell, the mountain of bubbles, and the silky feel of the water. It’s also easy to divide with the two sections kind of pressed together.

2. Creamy Candy Bubble Bar

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

I mentioned how I love the smells of all these products, but I really love the smell of this bar. I love the smell so much that I keep buying it even though I don’t get any color pay off or really any bubbles. It does, however, make the water silky smooth and, well, creamy. Creamy Candy is exactly what it says it is — a creamy smooth, candy smelling bar.

1. The Comforter

muffinchanel lush cosmetics favorites best products

The Comforter is my absolute favorite! I seem to say that in every Lush post, but it’s true! If you get to buy one product from Lush, get the Comforter! You won’t regret it. It turns your water bright pink and makes it silky smooth. It’s definitely one of Lush’s more pricey bath products and it makes me really sad because I can remember when it was $9.95 — and I thought that was a lot! It’s $10.95 now, but I still think it’s worth it. Obviously, I ration it with every bath, but a little goes a long way.

Sweetie Pie Review – Lush Cosmetics

This post may contain affiliate links; all opinions are my own. See Disclosures heremuffinchanel lush cosmetics sweetie pie review

This Lush gift set is the perfect gift for anyone. With 6 awesome products, you are sure to walk away with a new favorite!

muffinchanel lush cosmetics sweetie pie reviewThis set comes with:

  • The Comforter
  • Bubble Gum Lip Scrub
  • Shimmy Shimmy Sparkle Bar
  • Sunny Side Bubble Bar
  • Rock Star Soap
  • Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

I showed you this gift set in an earlier post, now it’s time for a review!

muffinchanel lush cosmetics sweetie pie review

  • The Comforter – My absolute favorite product from Lush. Hands down. The Comforter you get in this set is half the size of the stand-alone Comforter (3.5oz vs. 7oz). You can get at least two uses out of this size Comforter. To use: Just crumble up the bubble bar under your warm running bath water. I like to sweep my hand through the water to really agitate it & get the bubbles going. The Comforter makes your water a nice, bright pink color that is so smooth and silky. I love the smell; it’s kind of fruity, but cool.
  • Bubble Gum Lip Scrub – I am not a fan of Bubblegum as a smell (I prefer the Mint Julips version of this sugar scrub) , but this scrub is great for giving your lips a nice polish. A little bit will definitely go a long way! To use: I like to first put on a chapstick or lipbalm then apply a little bit of the sugar scrub with my finger. The lip balm will help the scrub to stick. Then gently rub the sugar all over your lips — don’t rub too hard! Then you can lick the scrub off or gently wipe it away with a damp cloth. Makes your lips super soft and smooth.
  • Shimmy Shimmy Sparkle Bar – This is almost like a lotion bar, but with glitter. It definitely gives a nice glow, but it didn’t absorb very well on me and I felt like I was leaving a glitter trail on my clothes and furniture. I’m not sure the best way to use this. :/
  • Sunny Side Bubble Bar – This is another bubble bar I like. In fact, if you’re trying Lush for the first time, I recommend trying a bubble bar — any kind, but definitely a Bubble Bar; they’re the best! Sunny Side makes your bath not only silky and bubbly, but glittery gold! And not like chunks of glitter sinking to the bottom of your bath — it’s like swirling liquid gold.
  • Rock Star Soap – :/ This soap smells weird to me. It’s like a chalky bubblegum smell? Thankfully, the smell doesn’t linger and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry.
  • Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly – This “jelly” is kind of cool. It’s like a more solid shower gel — think Jell-o consistency. The smell is pleasant and with glitter swirls in it, how could you go wrong? I take a small bit of the jelly and lather it up in my loofa. The jelly is a tad slippery, but once it’s lathered, you’re good to go. Leaves my skin feeling clean and soft.

The Sweetie Pie gift set is $46 at Lush.com and I would rate it 7.5/10.
